It was great to see so many of our fantastic Year 11 come back for their Sixth Form Induction Days! Freshly rested after their recent GCSE and examination endeavors they showed why next year will be such a great year in our relaunched full Sixth Form.
Students were given an insight into how Year 12 would be different from their KeyStage 4 experiences in terms of the challenges and privileges of being young adult learners, were given information about the different components of the core from EPQ to Core Maths and Duke Of Edinburgh Award to TEFL courses. They also had another opportunity to shape the extended curriculum with enrichment activity ideas and requests.
Students then took part in a Young Enterprise Employability Masterclass designed to start building and polishing those employability skills ready to promote themselves in interviews and applications for jobs or University places. The presenter and myself were very impressed with their performance, they worked so well we managed to finish slightly earlier to let students get off and continue making preparations for the Prom next week!
