Week 10 – Vici Vidi Veni

A good week starts with wonderful weather and enthusiastic students.

This week Team Omega produced a varied and engaging curriculum for our students at Eastbrook School.

Mr. Wall started with a session on a hero’s journey which the students learnt about hero myth pattern studies popularised by Joseph Campbell. Students debated and discussed various figures whom the hero’s journey applies to. Our students displayed their creative side by producing a painting of their heroes undergoing their journey.

Also, students took to creating and designing a travel brochure for people looking to enjoy their stay-cation in Barking and Dagenham this summer. Mr. Glanville helped students produced very detailed and colourful brochures showing the wide range of opportunities and places for people to visit.

Student were given plenty of opportunities to participate in hands-on activities throughout the week with baking of chocolate brownies (YUM!) and completing a series of science experiments under the direction of Mrs. Logan. From balloon kebabs and volcanoes to lava lamps and paper water bombs, the students enjoyed how challenging and fun science can be.

Lastly, Mrs. Deen made sure the students were provided with plenty of chances to mediate and exercise. We walked the Chase to clear and focus our mind, and participated in sports throughout the week in order to keep our energy and our mental health in tip top shape.

Overall, a wonderful week where students really gave their all. Well done guys!
