The Internet Café at Eastbrook

We know that it can sometimes be quite challenging to find a quiet space at home when you are trying to get an important piece of work done, watch an essential tutorial video or speak to your teacher in a subject surgery. Life at home inevitably comes with its distractions for all of us. However, we all know how important it is that students are able to stay engaged with their learning so that they are ready for their return to school.

In response to this we have developed an internet café facility for Year 10 and 12 every Wednesday from 9.30 a.m. This is a quiet area in school, with access to a laptop computer and the internet, and a large working space where students can lay out all of their books and get some solid learning done without the risk of being distracted.

We had our first session last week and I know that all the students who attended found it really useful as it was so much easier to focus fully on their studies. I would urge all of Year 10 and 12 to contact the school and book themselves in for a session … it will be well worth it!
