Support for learning online

We saw a successful start to 2021 for our interventions in the SEN department.

Our year 7’s created social conversation with the help of the cuddly toy Rory the lion, they also thought up some interesting things the lion was doing in lockdown such as getting burgers from burger king and chips from KFC which put everyone in good humour.

We had some fabulous suggestion from year 8’s about how we can mask our feelings and why.  Year 8 also did some excellent literacy work, creating sentences with their name and adjective of something they like to do beginning with the same letter as their name. They also discussed Romeo and Juliet plot before getting the amazing opportunity to watch a live performance online.

Year 9 shared their lockdown stories in there well -being check, and all said how they are able to access their classes online.

A great start to the year, and next week will be a fully packed program including resilience and assertiveness tools to survive lockdown and study skills for home learning.
