Face Masks

All parents and students will now be aware that from Monday 8th, to ensure that we keep everyone safe on our return to school, it is our policy that all students will be required to wear face masks in the classroom unless they are exempt from doing so.  In these cases students will wear an exemption lanyard so that staff are aware of their circumstances and know not to question them.

I thought I would share the message that Matthew Cole – the Director of Public Health for Barking and Dagenham passed on to all Headteachers today.

‘I am strongly recommending the use of  face masks in secondary schools because we want to do everything we can to reduce the risk of transmission of Covid-19 in the school. The wearing of face masks provides an additional measure to help reduce transmission in indoor communal areas and classrooms where social distancing cannot be safely managed.’

Face masks are available to buy on the parent pay website and we recommend that students bring more than one face mask each day.
