For this week’s WOW Wednesday, Year 10 forms had the pleasure of having guest readers – Ms Baker, Ms Bishop, Mr English, Mr Frith, Mr Glanville, Ms Lotter, Mr Nathan, Ms Southan and Mr Tobias – read a book to them. The text that was being read was Eight Piece of Silva by Patrice Lawrence, a Black British writer. The WOW Wednesday was inspired by Black History Month and we felt, as a school, it was important to uplift, empower and showcase the excellent contributions of the black writers in young adult literature.
