Christmas with the Elderly of our Community

On the 16th December Eastbrook Schools Choir and the Head Boy and Head girl went to our two local residential care homes for the elderly where they performed a traditional Carol concert. The Elderly of our community participated in the singing of Carols, so as to share in the Christmas cheer. Then on Wednesday 18th December the Elderly of our community were invited to an afternoon of Christmas festivities where they enjoyed music provided by the year 7, 8, 9 and 10 bands, singing from the school choir, dancing by a musical theatre team and stories of how Christmas is celebrated in the many different countries. The students then sang a wonderful rendition of Silent night in 4 different languages. These were all performed by the performing arts students. The Elderly were also treated to a sumptuous afternoon tea, prepared and served by the year 9 Hospitality and catering students under the watchful eye of Miss Cathy MCee. The event was a great success and in the evening the performing art students performed to their parents and carers.
