All Year 7 students received an early Christmas present last week as they collected their free book as part of Bookbuzz.

Bookbuzz is a programme run by the BookTrust. It aims to inspire a love of reading in 11 to 13-year-olds. Students have the opportunity to choose their own book to take home and keep from a list of 17 titles.

Students were shown short clips about each of the books on offer before making their final selection, which they received last week. Choices included ‘Girls Can Vlog: Lucy Locket Online Disaster’ (Emma Moss), ‘The Last Zoo’ (Sam Gayton), ‘Jelly’ (Jo Cotterill), and ‘The Crossover’ (Kwame Alexander).

We hope that all students enjoy their selections and share with each other when they have finished reading them.
