An Inspirational Visit by our Year 10 Artists!

Year 10 GCSE Art & Design students were lucky enough to have the opportunity to experience a once in a lifetime retrospective of the work of renowned Post-Impressionist artist Paul Cezanne, at the Tate Modern.

Students undertook research and investigation of the artist and his work, contributing to Assessment Objective 1 of the AQA exam board mark scheme.

Cezanne’s work was a major part of the Modern Art revolution, which began in the late 19th century. His choice of simple ‘still life’ subject matter, use of expressive mark making and colour and varying perspectives ushered in a new way of seeing and representing the world around us.

Nicol Skierka in 10E said: “This was an inspirational day. We got to see the many different styles and techniques of making art on display at the Tate Modern. Having the opportunity to see Cezanne’s work with our own eyes was truly a privilege. Thank you to our amazing teachers for taking us!”

Well done Year 10, we are PROUD of your commitment to your art!
