The children in Reception showed a brilliant attitude towards their first independent task in English this week. The children had to find the letters of their names from a mix of magnetic letters. They showed perseverance in this tricky activity. All the children knew the initial sound to their name and were confident in finding it. The pictures you can see are the children’s completely independent try, it was wonderful to see as they maintained focus and completed the task staying engaged.

Their English focus for the first two weeks has been identifying their names ready to start using their jungle self-sign-in board in Week 3. Along with identifying their names, they have even been having a go at practicing their handwriting with tracing activities.
