Tree planting

Pupils and volunteers from Thames Chase have planted 109 saplings along the fence on the school field. This was a service learning project undertaken by the pupils to enhance the school grounds, attract wildlife and improve the local environment. Pupils planted a variety of trees;  Rowan (also known as Mountain Ash), Hazel and Wayfairing trees. Children have utilised this project to write newspaper articles, measure the trees, link with the story of Mama Miti and Science work. Pupils really enjoyed the project and cannot wait to plant even more trees later on this year.
