Today Year 1 decided to end their unit of ‘Helping our world’ by holding a small fundraising event. This week we will design, make and sell pebble pets to the parents and donate the money raised to the Essex Wildlife Trust to protect animals and nature in our local area. We used today’s English lesson to write a letter to our parents inviting them to come and buy a pebble on Friday. We practised saying the sentences out loud, writing them with the correct punctuation and rereading them to check for sense. We hope that lots of parents come and support us in raising lots of money for a very worthy cause. Here is a copy of our shared letter which has been sent home today.
