The children in Reception found a strange envelope in the classroom Wednesday morning, it was a riddle explaining that they had to go into the garden and search for clues. They were so excited to get outside and solve this mystery. Once the children had found all the clues of the creatures from a well known story they found the BOOK….The Gruffalo!

They bought the book and the note back in the classroom to reveal a treat of making Gruffalo cakes and eating them as they watched the Gruffalo movie later that day. They sat down together and a enjoy the well known story, joining in to the words they knew.

It was smiles all round as they carefully decorated their cakes, with his orange eyes and the poisonous  green wart at the end of his nose. The smiles turned to chocolatey grins as they enjoyed their treat watching the animated cartoon of the Gruffalo.
