The Last Wild – Hotseat

This half term, the children have been completing a text study of The Last Wild by Piers Torday. As with all of our text studies across the school, the children get the chance to plan and write longer pieces in response to the events of the story.

This week, the focus has been on creating a newspaper article detailing the escape of Kester Jaynes from Spectrum Hall. As part of their investigation. the roving reporters from Year 6 also had the opportunity to get into character and take part in some press-style Q and A sessions.

Once they had the chance to brave the hotseat, the children worked with partners to create and collate their work onto a shared Padlet where they all had access to each others high quality ideas and responses to the task.

Journalism is alive and well in Year 6!
