The Gift Of Gratitude

Year 1 excitedly skipped through the door this morning full of beaming smiles and ready to tackle their first day of learning as a whole class in one room since 2021 began. Everybody shared their feelings about their return to school and every response was filled with words such as “Good”, “Happy”, “Amazing” and “Excited”. The children couldn’t hide their delight at seeing their friends and arranging which games would be played in the playground first.

As glad as everybody was to be back, it was also important to reflect on the huge efforts of families at home who had made enormous adaptations to their everyday lives over the last few months to support the children, so superbly, with their remote learning. The kind children in Year 1 thought it was only fair to practice the Eastbrook value of gratitude and make ‘Home Learning Hero’ certificates for their families, complete with a beautiful bouquet of tulips.

A huge thank you again to all of the Year 1 Home Learning Heroes- Pupils, parents and staff. A combined tremendous effort has made the world of difference to our children.
