The children in Reception have been putting their creativity and scientific thinking skills to work this week. They were given the task of creating boats that will float from junk modeling. Working so well at their tables the children displayed fantastic fine motor skills being able to use the scissors and the tape to connect two pieces of junk. They really enjoyed this task and stayed focused at their tables discussing different things to add to their boats and ways of making them float.

On Thursday it was time to hit the water! The children made predictions on whether they thought their friend’s boat would sink or float. With some successes and a few losses, lots of fun was had with this sink or float challenge.
