Natural Art Attack

The children in Reception were very happy to take a trip to the forest on Wednesday afternoon to complete their natural art task. Before they left they looked at different examples of photos of amazing art created through natural objects and they even watched a video on how to place them into different patterns.  The children were buzzing with creativity as they shared their ideas. You could hear ‘I’m going to try and make my face’ and ‘I want to make a repeating pattern’.

When they arrived at the forest they had to collect natural resources such as sticks, pebbles, acorns and leaves to create a picture of their choosing. After exploring the forest and combing it for objects, the children found a space and started creating. The children had the option to work alone, in pairs, or in small groups. The communication was great, you could hear the pairs and groups discussing what they could add to their picture and how it could be improved.

Filled with pride, you can see the smiles as the children displayed their natural art pieces! The galley was open so the children could walk around commenting on their friend’s work. Back in the classroom, a few children stayed inspired and started making their own natural colleges!
