Julius Caesar Visits Eastbrook

Year Four pupils have been had an amazing visit this week from the infamous Julius Caesar! Caesar used his dictatorial powers and forced one of his servants to arrange this amazing meeting with us. His visit was very informative, he reminded us our all the inventions that the Roman Empire gave to the world, especially the fact that the Roman gave us straight roads, aqueducts which were used to transport water for agricultural purposes and the even more widely used Roman numerals.

We all took part in a quiz, where any incorrect answers that were given, Caesar immediately recruited them into the Roman army as an auxiliary. By the end of the quiz, Caesar did have a number of recruits for the ever expanding Roman army. The pupils had an opportunity to ask Julius Caesar a number of questions which gave them a greater insight into his life and life in Rome.

Throughout the entire visit, everyone was very attentive and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Julius Caesar’s visit gave the pupils a truly unique understanding of  this era in history and added  to the excitement of learning.
