Interesting Invertebrates

Pupils in year three took part in an invertebrate hunt in their homes and in school. After learning the characteristics and definition of an invertebrate the children were eager to explore and find some… They searched high and low, both inside and outside to find some invertebrates, some of the children were very brave in handling the wiggling and crawling creatures!

Children used a classification key to name the invertebrates that they found, they were able to find worms, spiders, slugs, earwigs and Mrs. Peake joined us with her African land snails! Pupils were very enthusiastic and eager to find out what their peers had discovered, later on they produced some detailed sketches of their invertebrates! Well done year three.
