Forest School Fun

The children in Reception took their learning to the forest on Thursday morning. For their first trip to the forest school the children’s focus was comparing size and length of natural objects they could find. They set off in pairs to find 5 -10 objects and then had to comparing the length and put them in height order, they showed great understanding as they lined up their sticks and twigs. Some of the children even moved on to number formation, making number shapes from natural materials they could find.

To finish off the adventure, the children enjoyed their class reward of a cup of hot chocolate sitting round the camp fire while finishing off their class story of The Brave Bear. They showed many of their school virtues on this forest school adventure: working together so well, they didn’t give up with their tricky task and so much gratitude for their treat and Mrs Fernandes joining them.
