Eastbrook had a little lamb…

Eastbrook had a very special visitor to school today… Dotty the lamb! Dotty was born in the Brecon Beacons, Wales, unfortunately for Dotty she was born as part of a set of triplets, her two brothers died soon after birth and Dotty’s mother rejected her. Luckily though for Dotty, the farmer’s daughter saw her struggling and bottle fed Dotty milk in order for her to survive and grow. Eventually, when she is strong enough and able to eat grass, Dotty will return to Wales, to become a breeding ewe on the farm that she was born on.

Dotty has come to visit London and is staying with Mr. Hickman, he thought that she would be warmly welcomed by Eastbrook pupils… and he wasn’t wrong!  Dotty has been an absolute pleasure to have in school and the children have loved meeting her. Every class in the school has had the opportunity to befriend Dotty, stroking her, gazing at her and following her every steps. Pupils have asked lots of questions and learnt a lot more about lambs and sheep.

Everyone at Eastbrook wishes Dotty a safe return to her fellow flock in Wales and we were delighted to meet her.
