Cultural Day 2023

On Thursday 6th July, Eastbrook Primary School celebrated ‘Cultural Day!’  This is the first time that we have held this event and it was a fabulous day!

Pupils and staff came to school dressed in clothes from their home culture, religion, country or colours of their flag. There were some truly fantastic outfits and the school certainly looked more colourful than usual! Every class in the school chose a different country to learn about and during the morning pupils were offered the opportunity to cook or taste food from that country. There were croissants devoured, Turkish muffins partaken, sushi nibbled, houmous dipped into, pasta cooked and nachos eaten! Music, singing, counting and phrases of many languages could be heard all around the school!

The whole school gathered on the field, during the gloriously sunny afternoon and came togther to share the knowledge about the different countries that they had learnt about. Some of the school Governors joined the school to watch the performances and they thoroughly enjoyed the show. Each class shared some facts about the country that they had been learning about and presented a dance or song, it was a delight to see the whole school enjoying the richness of different cultures.

After school, work was displayed in the hall for parents and carers to look  at and admire. Thank you for our parents for supporting our event and for the fabulous outfits the children wore and the help with the children’s homework projects.
