Autism Awareness in Year Three

Year Three pupils have taken part in a range of activities to celebrate ‘Autism Awareness and Acceptance’ week. Pupils have watched some short films and been able to put themselves in the shoes of an autistic child, in order to understand how the world seems to them. They have brain stormed what autism is and how autistic children may deal with some situations. Teachers from Apollo showed the mainstream pupils some of the visual resources that they use in the Arp to help children learn. Pupils have also drawn themselves onto a jigsaw puzzle piece, alongside every child in the school. These will be put together as a whole school display, to show that we are all unique people but we all belong at Eastbrook Primary School.
