Ancient Greece

Today, students in Year 4 were introduced to a new and exciting topic in History…….Ancient Greece!

Children started off the lesson sharing some interesting facts that they already know of Ancient Greece such as which Gods the Greeks prayed to for different reasons, which was very lovely to hear. After, students went on a stimulating immersive experience learning about architecture, food, art, slavery and life in Ancient Greece.

During the experience, the children were transported to a Spartan market in Parthenon where they took on a challenge to save Athens! They travelled by boat to Sparta and had to steal the King of Sparta’s shield whilst trying to escape from all the soldiers. They then took part in javelin for the Olympic Games and had to bargain with King to get the Spartans to retreat out of Athens. All the children had an amazing time and really enjoyed the experience whilst learning about how life was in Ancient Greece. Well done, Year 4!
