End of Year Celebration and Enrichment
As we wrap up a successful, first academic year, we were delighted to mark this milestone with a special Year 12 Psychology enrichment trip to London Zoo. This memorable day combined celebration with learning, giving our students an inspiring chance to explore psychological concepts in a vibrant, real-world environment.
Connecting Curriculum with Experience
The trip perfectly complemented the A Level psychology syllabus, linking classroom theory with hands-on experiences. Students delved into key topics such as:
-Animal Learning and Intelligence: Guided by expert zoologists, students explored classical and operant conditioning, gaining insight into animal training and welfare.
-Behavioural Observation: students conducted structured observations of animal species, applying research methods like event sampling.
-Consciousness and Self-Awareness: Reflective discussions encouraged comparisons between human and animal consciousness, focusing on primate cognition.
Celebrating Through Engagement
- Alongside the learning, this trip served as a well-deserved end-of-year celebration for our Year 12 psychologists. Students enjoyed lively discussions and a chance to connect with professionals at the zoo – making the day both educational and memorable.
Our Year 12 Psychology enrichment trip to London Zoo was a perfect blend of celebration and study, giving students an invaluable opportunity to see psychology in action. This experience has deepened their appreciation of behaviour—both human and animal—and sharpened their observational and analytical skills as they look forward to the next academic challenges.
We congratulate all Year 12 students on their hard work this year and look forward to more enriching experiences ahead. We are PROUD!
