Speak Out!

This week a number of Year 10 students took part in a public speaking workshop provided by Jack Petchey and Speaker’s Trust.  The students were nervous upon arrival but soon found their voices through a number of interactive exercises designed to build confidence and work on public speaking techniques. Each and every one was able to put their new skills into practice when they successfully produced and performed two-minute speeches on a topic of their choice. The topics were original and well-delivered ranging from human rights to pineapple on pizza!

What’s more, ten students from the workshop have been selected to go through to ‘assembly finals’ where they will compete for a space to represent Eastbrook School at the annual Jack Petchey Speak Out Regional Final!

Well done to everyone who took part, it was a memorable day for all involved!
