Our students undertook independent study into the economics theories of Sir William Arthur Lewis (A Nobel Peace Prize for Economics)

Students explore the ideas around Lewis’s ideas of development economics and the Lewis Model. Students looked at Lewis’s contribution to the ideas around economic growth and how they relate to our current lives today.

Two of the works we looked at were: The Theory of Economic Growth (1955) and Economic Development with Unlimited Supplies of Labour (1954).

Students engaged with Q&As and classroom debate over the the numerous topics explored in both the book and article.
