Artists Make Books!

On Wednesday 28th June, a lucky group of Year 10 GCSE Art & Design students engaged in an artist’s book making workshop at the British Library.

The visit started with a quick pit stop to see the Central Saint Martins School of Art in Granary Square and ‘hang out’ in the space like a real art student! Students then visited the main library gallery and reviewed a range of books in the collection, from thousand-year-old illustrated religious texts to contemporary art books. They then made a codex style book by hand, adding their own text and design.

As always, our students were impeccably well behaved and thoroughly engaged in the workshop. Andreea in 10H said: “Thank you to Mr Nathan and Mr Dushku for taking us on this fantastic day out. We are grateful to attend a GOOD school that provides us with these excellent extra-curricular opportunities.”

Well done Year 10s – we are PROUD as always!
