Congratulations

I’m delighted to inform you that Jill Baker, our ex-Executive Headteacher has been awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours list! This is an outstanding achievement and is testament to her hard work and dedication in working to improve the lives of young people in East London.

An MBE (Members of the Order of the British Empire) is awarded to individuals who have gone over and above the call of duty in their work and to improve their community. In this case, the MBE went to Jill for her services to education.

I’m sure that you’ll join me in sending wholehearted congratulations. This is wonderful news for our school and is testament to her work at Eastbrook and other schools in East London. Some of her contributions recently have firmly set our school on a trajectory of improvement and we are very thankful for all she did during her time with us. She remains a friend of the school and continues to support us on our journey in her role as Interim Head of School Performance and Partnerships with the local authority (Barking and Dagenham).
