In Year 4, we have been learning all about the amazing raw material, cocoa beans. Since we now know that one of our favourite treats, chocolate, comes from the cocoa bean we decided that we would use a few simple ingredients to make our very own version of chocolate. We were also very careful to choose ingredients that carried the Fairtrade logo, which ensures that the farmers will receive a fair wage for the products that they produce.  We worked with our group and tried our best to show kindness, teamwork and generosity while we took turns mixing our ingredients. We used cocoa powder, brown sugar, milk and cocoa solids to create our mixture. We had to be extremely careful while mixing and also while pouring the mixture into the moulds. We now have to wait until the mixtures sets before we can taste and devour our delicious chocolate. We can’t wait!
