‘Wild’ About Writing

Year 1 once again took their learning outside today in preparation for a piece of recount writing that they will complete over the next few days. Intrigued by the front cover of our current Power of reading text, ‘Wild’, which depicts a wild female character, the children used clay and forest findings to try and recreate her image on the trees in the forest. The Eastbrook virtue of teamwork was absolutely crucial to their success. As you can see by the photographs, the children were highly engaged and produced some exceptional pieces of work. These will be the stimulus for a short recount that we will complete to secure our sentence construction. I know that Year 1’s writing will be just as good as their wild faces from today’s lesson.
