Truly Scrumptious!

Today Year 4 and 5 visited the amazing Chocolate Museum in Brixton, the educational visit was to support their IPC topic work. The children truly had a wonderful time and upon entering the premises the divine smell of warm chocolate greeted them…

Pupils made white and milk chocolate truffles, which they coated with tempered chocolate and then decorated with chocolate shavings. They also made a fudge lollipop, cut and decorated chocolate fudge. The children had enormous fun stirring, making and creating their delicious chocolates. It was difficult stopping the children from eating the chocolates as they looked and smelt so tempting!

Later on the children held a cocoa pod, tasted raw cocoa nibs and then blind tasted a variety of chocolate, ranging from vanilla white chocolate to ginger and lime milk chocolate. They also sampled chocolate from Venezuela and Java, commenting on the differences between the taste and appearance.

All too soon it was time to leave with our chocolates and wonderful memories of a fun filled day.
