The children and staff of Eastbrook Primary School showed their support for Anti-Bullying Week 2021 by wearing their odd socks to school today. During this morning’s Anti-Bullying assembly, the children learnt the true meaning behind wearing odd socks; to show that difference is perfectly ok and is in fact a reason for celebration. The children now fully understand that odd socks have exactly the same purpose and worth as a pair of matching socks. In assembly, Mrs Turner explained that her one pink sock and one stripy sock were keeping her feet just as warm as her matching pairs.
Taking on the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s theme of ‘One Kind Word’, the children of Eastbrook offered many valuable suggestions of ways in which they could use their powerful words to brighten somebody’s day. The best news of the day was that the playground staff reported hearing many a kind word being spoken and many a kind action being seen during lunchtime. Well done Eastbrook!
