Year 1 had a fabulous afternoon launching their new ‘Treasure Island’ IPC topic. The children will be using pirate travels of the past to support their geography learning throughout the unit but first they needed to be enthused about the idea to get everybody excited about their future learning. What better way than a pirate afternoon featuring dressing up, making cardboard tube pirates, playing an energetic game of North, East, South and West, generating our own pirate names and learning to speak like a pirate with perfect growls. Yo ho ho!!!
