Microorganisms, Big School!

This afternoon, our Year 6 children had a glimpse into the future and spent some time over at our Secondary school building in the Science labs. Accompanied by Mr Peake, the children were invited by our Science department to experience a lesson to aid in their Primary Science learning.

This half term, the children have been studying the world of classification and how living things can come in all sizes from the Blue Whale to microscopic microorganisms like Viruses.

Another type of microorganism that the children can identify is bacteria. As well as learning that there are both helpful and harmful types of bacterium, they set up an observation that they will have the results of after half-term. The children are going to see who can grow the best (most disgusting) bacteria!

Keep your eyes peeled for updates on our observations.
