Let The Games Begin!

In a homage to the Greeks and in attempt to replicate the auspicious occasion of the Olympics, Year Four hosted their very own version of the Olympics Games. Before the Games began, we worked very diligently to prepare for the big event. We worked in groups to design medals and number bibs, our Olympic torches and our creative committee used their skills to choreograph a spectacular opening ceremony. Once our preparations were complete, it was now time to let the games begin!

The pupils used their schoolhouses as their teams and each house represented one of our home nations. The excitement was palpable, but the competition was fiercely friendly. After the opening ceremony, there was the parade of the nations with a representative. We took part in a number of events with the closing event being the 400m walking race. All the pupil thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and embraced the spirit of the modern Olympics.
