We have been learning all about the fascinating process that materials go through in order to become a rock. We looked closely at the formation of sedimentary rocks and how the different strata are formed over a long period of time, thousands of years!  Unfortunately, we didn’t have thousand of years, so instead we used a range of ingredients: salt, dahl, coco-pops, black-eyed peas and pasta, to represent the layers of rocks. Everyone had a fabulous time, we even had an earthquake to show what could possibly happen to the layers if were disturbed by this natural disaster.
