Great Science Share 2022

Today Eastbrook  hosted the Great Science Share! Our children took part in presenting and disseminating their science learning alongside children from other local schools in a gallery-like setup. The mutual exchanging of scientific ideas and knowledge was wonderful to behold.

Each school came prepared to present their findings and information on questions such as; ‘What happens to our food in our stomach?’; ‘What is the future of farming?’; ‘Is there light from the sun we cannot see?’ and ‘Do bigger coins need fewer cells to make a battery?’

To mark the special occasion, special guests from the fields of both science and art contributed towards what was an amazing day of learning and sharing. Artists, Anthony Garratt, Clare Davidson and Clare Dudeney shared their passion for art and sustainability by helping to create a whole ‘share project’ with the children.

Scientists Dr Helen Mason, OBE and Dr. John Dudeney, OBE proved to be incredibly inspirational as they shared secrets about the sun and a first hand account of what it is really like at South Pole!

One of the children summed it up the best commenting, “I liked how we could see all different science lessons. I loved how we learnt about science from other children.”

Thank you to everyone who was involved with a great Great Science Share!
