In Mr Peake’s maths group today, the children were getting to grips with decimals. Although they have come across these tricky little numbers before, today was a good session to refresh the memories and put all of their place value knowledge to good use to count forwards and backwards in tenths and hundredths. They even played a game to correctly write and identify the decimal numbers being read aloud by Mr Peake with points up for grabs for everyone – 2 for no place value grid and 1 if you needed a bit of extra support. Alexa was our winner today with plenty more opportunities to take place further down the line.
