Year Three visited the Eastbrook forest today and had a great time under the shady trees. Firstly, they read some of their English book ‘The Village that Vanished’, and discussed the scenes. Next they role played some of the pupils being Yao tribe members and hiding in the trees from the evil slavers who wanted to capture them.

Next in groups they created their own Yao villages from natural materials in the forest. The children made homes, a fire pit, vegetable patches, animal enclosures, pathways and trees. Lastly, each group described what they had created to the rest of the class.
