All about THRIVE

21 May

Eastbrook School SEND students are supported through the THRIVE model: Therapeutic interventions, Habit and routine, Relational-social, Individual differences, Values and beliefs, and Emotional factors.

Secondary school marks a time of major transition — socially, academically, and emotionally. For SEN students, this period can feel overwhelming. From changes in routine to increased academic pressure and social dynamics, many face barriers that standard interventions don’t address. With Thrive Interventions, we tailor our support to meet students where they are, respecting their individuality while helping them build confidence, resilience, and emotional literacy.

What We Do

Our approach is grounded in therapeutic, educational, and coaching models that are flexible, inclusive, and student-centred. We work closely with schools to complement existing support systems and ensure no student is left behind. Our services include:

  • 1:1 Emotional Coaching - Tailored sessions designed to help students explore their feelings, build self-esteem and a sense of identity, and develop coping strategies for anxiety and frustration.

  • Group Resilience & Social Skills Workshops - Small group interventions that focus on communication, emotional regulation, and building positive peer relationships — all within a safe, supported environment.

  • Staff Training & SEN-Informed CPD - Practical, insightful training for staff on how to recognise, respond to, and support the emotional and behavioural needs of SEN learners.

  • Collaboration with SENCOs and Inclusion Teams - We believe in wraparound support. Our work strengthens what schools are already doing, providing continuity between emotional wellbeing and academic progress.

  • A Whole-Child, Whole-School Approach, Meaningful impact - Every SEN student deserves to feel understood, empowered, and hopeful about their future.

By nurturing emotional resilience and self-awareness, we help unlock their potential — not only in the classroom but in life beyond school. An example of the success seen due to this intervention can be seen with Kenzie, who has worked well with his THRIVE intervention and has passed three developmental strands in the last eight months. He has just completed the Power and Identity strand. His key task was to develop a positive sense of self and understanding and respecting self and others. This means Kenzie’s overall improvement on this strand has been 66%. He will progress onto his next strand which is Skill and Structure. We value all of our students' progress. No matter if it's academic, emotional or physical, seeing them grow makes us PROUD.
