Curriculum

IT was a hit!

This year the IT cohort worked extremely well despite facing the challenging circumstances. The whole cohort performed very well overall and produced some outstanding work. Below is a brief overview of some of the work they did this year.

Unit 6: Awesome Apps – Pupils design and build mobile app prototypes

Pupils were challenged to create an app prototype to solve potential issues with a manual system that requires modernisation with the use of computers.  Pupils built confidence in brain storming and sharing ideas with the whole group. They used both verbal communication skills as well as visual representation of their ideas to the group, just like in a real boardroom setting! Pupils then went on to create their app prototypes using App Lab and other software prototyping tools.

Unit 15: Creativity at its peak – game ideas presented by pupils

Pupils use their creativity to present their own unique game ideas to the class. The aim of this task was to ‘sell’ the idea to the client and get approval. This involves pupils not only coming up with ideas but also practicing essential presentation and communication skills.

Unit 21: Wonderful Websites

Pupils planned, designed multiplatform websites for an online business. Pupils practice essential skills required to rapidly develop prototypes and skills required to share ideas with key stakeholders. They learnt how to design and create animation for websites too.
