Who said you can’t mix Sweets and DNA?

We made the structure of DNA using 4 colours gummy bears, strawberry shoelaces and tooth picks.

DNA has the shape of a “double helix”. It is comprised of two single strands that join and twist together.

We used;

Strawberry shoelaces – double strands

4 colours of gummy bears – base pairs, A with T and G with C

Tooth picks –  hold the bases to act as the rungs of the ladder like structure
