The Beginning of the End of Year 10 Religious Studies GCSE.

Today our Year 10 Religious Studies undertake their last thematic unit – Theme E: Crime and Punishment. Students explored the types and causes of crimes with a great debate about how far forgiveness and compassion can go in the face of crimes.

Students thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of debating different types of evil and suffering. These socratic exercises allow our students to develop multiple perspectives around the topics and enhance their 12 mark essay answers.

The concepts of “unforgivable” crimes were discussed and many students were aware of how different their views were and how their views is influenced by the society and culture they are a part of.

Well done Year 10s – Only through dialogue can we truly develop compassion and understanding.
