Shiver Me Timbers – Have A Read Of This, Me Hearties

Ahoy, Matey!

Year 9 have been taking on some of the Nineteenth Century’s greatest writers. You might have seen a previous post where students wrote in the style of Oscar Wilde, arguing that intelligence was superior to beauty.

Next up was Robert Louis Stevenson. Having studied some extracts from Treasure Island, students had to develop their own pirate character and write a description.

Of course, every swashbuckling pirate needs an appropriate pirate name, with offerings such as Captain Lanky Legs, Buccaneer Shark Bait and Seadog Scallywag.

We had some excellent offerings -luckily no body will be made to walk the plank!

Enjoy reading – yo-ho-ho
