Covid 19 update

Following the government announcement on 4th January 2021, we have updated the information from this page which can now be found here.

As per the current government guidance on the safe return of pupils, schools with secondary-age pupils have been asked to enable a phased return to learning, to allow pupils to be tested in advance of their return.

All schools are expected to conduct regular asymptomatic covid testing.  Please complete the consent form through this link.

Here is a copy of our usual in school timetable which year groups will follow when learning from home as well as when they return to school.

Vulnerable children and children of critical workers

If your child belongs to the list below, they are to attend school at the regular usual time as of Wednesday 6th January 2021.  Before Sunday 3rd January 2021 please arrange a covid test and follow the guidance for isolation from the NHS if found to be positive, as well as contacting attendance@eastbrookschool.org;

Vulnerable children and young people include those who:

·         are assessed as being in need under section 17 of the Children Act 1989, including children and young people who have a child in need plan, a child protection plan or who are a looked-after child

·         have an education, health and care (EHC) plan

·         have been identified as otherwise vulnerable by educational providers or local authorities (including children’s social care services), and who could therefore benefit from continued full-time attendance, this might include:

·         children and young people on the edge of receiving support from children’s social care services or in the process of being referred to children’s services

·         adopted children or children on a special guardianship order

·         those at risk of becoming NEET (‘not in employment, education or training’)

·         those living in temporary accommodation

·         those who are young carers

·         those who may have difficulty engaging with remote education at home (for example, due to a lack of devices or quiet space to study)

·         care leavers

·         other children and young people at the provider and local authority’s discretion including pupils who need to attend to receive support or manage risks to their mental health

 

Yr11 & Yr13 (key exam year groups)

If your child is in Yr11 and Yr13, they will resume online learning as of Wednesday 6th January 2021, they are to attend school at the regular usual time as of Monday 11th January 2021.  Before Wednesday 6th January 2021 please arrange a covid test and follow the guidance for isolation from the NHS if found to be positive, as well as contacting attendance@eastbrookschool.org;

All scheduled exams for the week beginning 4th and 11th January 2021 go ahead as normal, including the Yr11 mock exams scheduled for week of 11th January 2021.  Please send your child to school for any scheduled exams, unless they are isolating.

 

Yr7 to Yr10 & Yr12 (other year groups)

If your child is in Yr7 through to Yr10 and Yr12, they will resume online learning as of Monday 11th January 2021, we plan to then phase in return of all year groups as of week beginning Monday 18th January 2021, with further information to follow regarding their return.  Between Thursday 7th January to Wednesday 13th January 2021 please arrange a covid test and follow the guidance for isolation from the NHS if found to be positive, as well as contacting attendance@eastbrookschool.org;
