Consultation on Relationships and Sex Education

We are in the process of reviewing and updating our Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) policy and practices. This is an extremely important piece of work because effective practice in this area can have a lasting positive impact on the lives of our students. As the draft policy states:

‘RSE is about providing pupils with the knowledge, skills and confidence to make safe, healthy and informed relationship choices as young people and in the future as adults.’
‘We believe in empowering our pupils to understand their bodies, to reflect on their relationship values and to be able to openly discuss relationships and sex. We believe that this approach will reduce the risk of unhealthy and abusive relationships.’
An important part of this review is to consult with our parents about the contents of the policy. You can read the draft version and complete our online survey by clicking on the links below.

It would be good to hear from parents even if you just want to let us know that you support our policy and feel it is effective in equipping our students with the knowledge and understanding they need to manage relationships appropriately in the future. Please refer to the objectives on Page 3 and 4 to capture the essence of what we are aiming to achieve. Responses should be emailed by no later than 26th March 2021

We look forward to hearing from you.
