On 11th November, Debate Mate is launching!

Debate Mate sessions will be run by external members of staff who are trained in the art of debating. The sessions will run from 3.15-4.15 on a Thursday night and will encourage students to develop their discussion and debating skills. Debate Mate is open to anyone who wants to use their voice, grow their confidence and learn to argue their point of view – in a controlled and sophisticated manner!

Throughout the year there will be an opportunity for students to take part in several debating competitions on a local and even national scale at the Debate Mate Cup event. These competitions are a great way to make new friends and showcase the skills that you have learned throughout the year.

More information about the Debate Mate programme will be delivered to students during form time next week; however, if you think you might be interested in taking part, please let either Miss Wood or Miss Shah know.
