Fish, Feathers and Fur! Such Fun!

Just before Easter the Journalism Club went and visited our friends in the Primary to learn a little about the resident animals that help to make up the Eastbrook community.

We were given a talk from the highly knowledgeable Ms Smith  about the various types of animals they house including birds, rabbits, snails and fish! We asked questions regarding their husbandry and found out some super interesting facts. Did you know that the hens had to be protected from the most recent bout of aviation flu spreading through the country? Or that Giant African Snails can grow between 4 and 7 inches long? Not to worry though, the hens are perfectly well and their eggs have been destroyed in order to protect everybody’s health.

Finally, we got to see the pride and joy of the Primary’s archives: the shell of the first ever egg collected from the chickens! We could not believe how beautifully preserved it was and felt very lucky to see it first hand.

We are going on another adventure soon so watch this space to see what wildlife can be found in the Secondary area!
