Eid Mubarak 2021

Eid (al-fitr) marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan for Muslims around the world.  Eid is celebrated twice a year, muslims sight the new moon and this marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Many in our school community, both staff and students, have been fasting during Ramadan.  Muslims remember those less fortunate by fasting during the daylight hours to experience the struggle which many communities face around the world, many Muslims are involved in charitable deeds throughout the entire month.  On Eid day Muslims will go to the mosque to offer prayers and many then come home to share gifts and food with friends and relatives as well helping those in less fortunate communities.

During the pandemic, Eid will look and feel very much different as everyone is in it together to beat the corona virus, observing government guidelines on meeting indoors and outdoors, but the spirit of Eid will be just as special as it always has been.

Aisha has shared a picture of her wonderful Henna hand decoration and Iftekhar has shared a picture of some lovely food he and his family enjoyed while celebrating Eid.
